"The only way to truly experience a different culture is through their food"-Andrew Zimmern

If you truly want to get to know a culture, try their food. That is why I like to try food from many different cultures. The food of a certain culture is shaped by the environment and the attitude of people. Generally, people just ate what grew their. Over time, people discovered how to take these ingredients and make it truly beautiful. Ethiopian food, as it turns out tastes a lot like South Indian food. The flavors are very similar. Yu sit around a table and they bring you many stews, dhals, and roasted vegetables, all flavored using a spice mix called berbere, and a flat bread, similar to a crepe is used to scoop up these toppings and eat it. This was just one example of trying food from many different cultures. I hope to keep trying new foods with my family.

Working Hard

By working hard, you can achieve anything. I was born in a lower income neighborhood in St.Lois to immigrant parents. While my dad had been here for fifteen years my mom only immigrated a year ago. My dad was studying for his P.H.d and my mom was studying for her masters degree, so money was tight. When I was three, my dad got a job and we moved to Pennsylvania. My dad got a really good job here so we came here to a safe, beautiful suburban home. I feel really lucky that my parents are as hardworking as they are so that they can afford to give me an excellent life. My parents had to work very hard to get where they are today, and I wouldn't be here without them.

Caribou reflection

I have always loved the class trip that we take in September. For the last three years it has been the highlight of an otherwise gloomy part of the year, the beginning.  And I think that the trip to Camp Caribou was the best one of them all. When we first got there, we went played a number of team building games. One of my favorites was entourage rock paper scissors, in which once you lose to a player, you join his team to cheer him on.

On the second day we had low ropes and high ropes. In low ropes we had a bunch of team building activities, Such as the spider web And the climbing wall. In the spider web we had a bunch of holes that we have to go through to get the other side .You can only use each hole once, and you could not touch the ropes. I was the leader in this activity for my group, and this activity thought us teamwork. Another activity that we did in low ropes was the 11-foot climbing wall, where we had to climb up a wall with no rungs and a no grip. We had two people on the ground hoist people up and we had two people on the top of the wall pulling people up. That day we also had high ropes. I did a high wire where you climb the tree 50 feet high, and you walk between two wires with your feet on one wire and your holding on the to other. Once you get to the middle of the wire, you jump off, harnessed in, of course.

The third day in my opinion was the most fun because we did the AquaZip, Where use Zip Line down into the water and it created a huge wake behind you. I love this trip because I got to know my classmates better. Even though I knew most of them, I was not friends with many of them, and I made them friends   on this trip, as well as becoming better friends with many of the kids I was already friends with. For me, that was the best part of all.
